Watch Clinical Trials Video

Clinical trials are research studies that test new medical techniques in patients in order to find better ways to prevent, detect, diagnose, and cure diseases.  This allows doctors to find out if new approaches are safe, and what benefits and risks are associated with them.

The Day I Found Out
The moment a doctor diagnoses you with cancer, life changes. You have to come to grips with a life-threatening disease, break the news to your loved ones and start to weigh treatment options. While the Internet is full of information about cancer, it can be overwhelming. So instead of creating another cancer web site, we wanted to create a site that offered hope. At The Day I Found Out, we've built a community where cancer patients can hear directly from cancer survivors about what it was like the day they found out they had cancer, and how they found the strength to fight it.

Later renamed the American Cancer Society, Inc., the organization now consists of over 2 million volunteers working to conquer cancer.
