James N. Atkins, M.D.

20 years medical oncology experience. Clinical Associate Professor Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Director of one of the largest cancer research organizations in the Southeast (Southeast Cancer Control Consortium). Keith A. Lerro, M.D.

Dr. Lerro joined Southeastern Medical Oncology Center in July 2003. Dr. Lerro received a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology for the State University of New York in 1991. He completed his M.D. degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his fellowship at Yale University.

I-Wen Chang, M.D.

Dr. I-Wen Chang joined Southeastern Medical Oncology Center in August 2007. She is board certified in both Hematology and Medical Oncology. Dr. Chang completed medical school, internal medicine residency and fellowship at Wake Forest University North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, NC.

Samer Kasbari, M.D.

Dr. Kasbari completed his Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center - Lebanon, New Hampshire. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine - St. George’s, Grenada. Dr. Kasbari also has a Master of Science degree in Public Health from Ohio State University.

James Scott Smith, M.D.

Dr. James Scott Smith became part of the SMOC team in 2009 having been employed previously with Charleston Hemaology Oncology located in Charleston, SC. Dr. Smith was also the Director of the Multidiscipline Thoracic Oncology Clinic at Moses Cone Health System Regional Cancer Center in Greensboro, NC for three years. He performed his Internal Medicine Residency at East Carolina University School of Medicine and Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC, then received his Medical Oncology Fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Smith is board certified in Internal Medicine, Oncology & Hematology.

Jason K. Boyd, M.D.

Dr. Boyd joined Southeastern Medical Oncology in August 2010. He completed his undergrad programs at the University of Georgia, his MD degree was earned at Mercer University in Georgia. His post-doctoral training was at Wake Forest University and the University of Virginia. We are enthused to have Dr. Boyd on our team.

Nagesh H. Jayaram, M.D.

Dr. Jayaram is our newest member of SMOC. He joined the practice in August 2011. He completed his internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Jayaram received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine - St. George’s, Grenada. He has a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana. SMOC is excited to have Dr. Jayaram as the full time physician at our Jacksonville office.
